If you are not sure what sort you have in mind, here's a brief description of each type:
Woven/Stretchy wraps Essentially long pieces of fabric (stretchy or not), wraps tie around your body and have the most versatile fit of any carrier, although stretchy wraps are not as supportive once your baby has grown past a certain weight. Carriers with Rings Ring slings are simple lengths of fabric with rings sewn into one end as a tightening system, and bear your child's weight comfortably across your back and over one shoulder. They are often quick and easy to put on. Close Caboos are made of one-way stretchy fabric and are a pre-formed alternative to a simple front carry with a stretchy wrap, using rings to tighten at each side. Tie-on Carriers These have a body panel and straps at the waist and shoulders to tie onto your body. Full Buckle Carriers These carriers attach to your body purely with buckled waist and shoulder straps. Many people find these quicker and easier to put on than other types of carrier but it's important to find one that works for you, as they vary so much in fit and adjustability. |
