
Fife Sling Library - Information
You can hire one or two carriers/slings at a time and the prices for this are as follows:
One carrier for 1 month: £15 plus deposit
Two carriers for 1 month: £25 plus deposit
All hires are available for Covid-safe collection or posting - please get in touch for more details or have a look at the online catalogue (link below).
If you'd like your hired carrier or sling posted out to you, the usual postage cost will also apply.
Carrier Hire during COVID
Although I’ve had to cancel open, in-person library sessions for now, you can still hire as normal from the full library range of slings and carriers, with online support if you need it and full follow-up email support as ever.
The total cost per hire is made up of the following:
- One month hire period - £15 for one carrier or £25 for two carriers if you'd like to compare a couple!
- Refundable deposit - £50 per carrier
You can collect from my home in Cardenden or I can post the carrier out to you for an additional postage charge.
How to hire
1. Choose your sling/carrier
Have a look at the online catalogue then contact SlingSure (via website, email, FB page or phone) to discuss which carrier you'd like to hire and agree dates/postage or collection details.
If you're struggling to narrow down the options, just message me and I'll see what I can do to help!
2. Complete hire form and payment
You'll then receive an email with an electronic form to complete online and payment details for bank transfer. Once you've submitted the form and paid in full, your carrier hire is confirmed!
3. Watch out for the postie (or collect in person)!
Your hired carrier will be posted out or collected by you, after which you will receive a second email confirming your payment receipt and tracking details for your hired carrier where applicable. If you've chosen to collect in person, I'll see you at our arranged time where we can complete a physically distanced pick-up.
4. Try out your hired carrier and get free video help if needed
Because I'm unable to offer in-person help at library sessions just now, I'm offering up to 15 minutes free video or phone support with each hire once you receive it, if you need reassurance with fitting it. If you'd like a longer appointment for help with your hire carrier or your own carrier, 1:1 consultations are available - there's more information here about booking this service
5. Check your emails
Near the end of your hire, you will receive a reminder email advising you that the carrier is due back soon. You can arrange return or, in many cases, extend your hire - just get in touch to ask!

Keeping safe
All carriers are washed between hires and stored in a closed container in my home. I observe strict hand hygiene procedures before handling the library carriers and packaging them for going out on hire. If you are collecting your carrier from my home, we will maintain a safe physical distance at the front door.
Although your hire carrier will be clean when you receive it, you are welcome to wash it yourself if you prefer, and I will offer washing advice to be followed for each type of carrier if you would like to do this.
Payment
In addition to the monthly hire charge and £50 refundable deposit, there will be an additional charge for postage if this is your preferred method of receiving the carrier. This will depend on the package size and speed of delivery - please ask at booking for a quote. The postage cost to send it out will be payable at time of booking, and you will be responsible for covering postage back to me by the date the carrier is due back. If you are fairly local to me and you are able to drop it at my house, we can arrange that near the end of your hire period.
